Introduction
Today on the BBC news website, a video was shown of an abducted U.S. Military contractor. The article claims that the flag in the background is that of As-saib Ahl al Haq, which translates as "The League of the Righteous" or "The League of the Virtuous."

"Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq (AAH; Arabic: عصائب أهل الحق Aṣayib Ahl al-Haq, "League of the Righteous") also known as the Khazali Network is an Iraqi Shi'a Islamist paramilitary group operating in Iraq and Syria. It is known as Iraq's largest "Special Group", the Americans' term for Iran-backed Shia paramilitaries in Iraq. The group emerged in 2006."

The top white Arabic slogan on this black-field flag is the Shahada mantra, and the bottom line reads: "Liwa al-Haq" (or "Al-Haq Battalion"). Haq may also be spelled as Haqq. Given the different al-Haq militias roaming around the Middle East, this one has been identified as operating against pro-Assad Syrian forces. As seen in the northwestern Idlib province; c. Dec. 2014. Supposedly in late Jan. 2017 this group merged with others to become: Tahir al-Sham.

A black field flag with the bottom-line slogan of "Islamic Resistance of Ahl al-Haq" in green, and in white Arabic in the red ribbon "Ahl al-Haq". There is a hidden flagpole on the right hoist side. The two-prong swords are that of the Zulfiqar sword, which indicated that this is a Shia-Muslim militia.
